No! We take care of everything. We update your Streams automatically, and only with ACTIVE items.
Your Streams will automatically drop the ended listings and show the new ones. You don't have to do anything at all.
A Stream is "view" of your listings, such as "Top Selling Items." You will schedule each Stream, and it will cycle until you stop or delete it.
Just think of ways that you can "Stream" (in other words, group) 20 listings or more. It's okay if the listings in that Stream overlap with listings in another Stream.
For example, if you sell collectables, you can create a Stream called "rare items" which have the word "rare" in the title. But why stop there? Make it interesting. Make a Stream called "Rare and popular items, going soon:" and base it on listings with high watch counts and high visitor counts, and which end within 24 hours.
Once you are happy with the items that you see in the browser, just click "Create Stream" and sit back and let the fun begin. Repeat the above process as many times as you want for different items.
Each of the three sites we currently support operates a little bit differently. As a subscriber, you will need to know how each one of them works.
Twitter is based on what is going on "in the moment." If you want to find out what people are saying about something right now, you go to Twitter.
But it is much more than that: You can use it to see what people are saying about you and your products. You are going to use it to advertise your products in a way that people find it refreshing, but not obtrusive. We recommend starting off with a regimen of 10 Tweets the first day, followed by 20 the next day for two weeks.
FaceBook is based on a deeper level of personal interaction; a login is required to see the updates. This is also a good place to post your items, but you should post less frequently than Twitter, as the posting requirements are more stringent. On the first day of your subscription you will not be able to post more than 10 items. However, all of your postings will still continue to show up in the FaceBook searches, and you will still continue to receive clicks on what's there.
Delicious is all about bookmarks. This is a service that tries to accumulate information on what people are bookmarking, and people use it as a "dashboard" for their favorite bookmarks. Many people are reliant on the service. The scheduler does not support Delicious because Delicious focuses more on bookmarks and one-time postings. You would not want to create a "Stream" of bookmarks, because you would only post them once. Therefore, you must post your updates to Delicious using the Smart Browser.
It's all about capturing interest. The more specific your message is, the more human you will seem, and the more business you will generate. Our system uses an intelligent design that makes this very easy.
Every post will go out with a leader message, which is usually up to about 20 or 30 characters, such as "Check out this item, ending now! ". It is better to break up one idea into several different Blasts so that you can mix things up a bit. For example, try another burst with the message: "How can you resist free shipping?"
Optimize Mode Is where we occasionally overwrite your custom messages with messages of our own, based on special social niche situations where certain conditions are met. We highly recommend enabling this mode.
For example, you can use Social Streamer to sell that antique Beatles signature item. When you first list it, we'll promote it as a new item. During the auction, we'll drive up bids by sharing analytics and Q&A. And before the auction closes, we'll sell it as a great deal about to go fast!
You can confirm all new visitors on your SPY tab in real time after a Tweet. We build analytics right into the software, so you can verify every single visitor that you get. We also distinguish between robots and actual human visitors for you, so that you know how many web feeds are picking up your listings. We also show you a map of the world and where these visitors are coming from. (Click for a demo of SPY.)
They are all real people. You can confirm them on your SPY tab. (Click for a demo of SPY.) You will see that their Location is intuitive, for example, German items attract people from Germany.
Also, our analytics service filters out every known web robot that we have encountered in the last few years of operating in analytics service. We also track the number of search robots, and this is shown in your Schedule tab.
The people found you by searching naturally about their own interests, by using social sites or tools like TweetDeck. Be prepared to remove a follower every now and then, however; this is considered usual "social maintenance" that people always do anyway.
It all depends on the quality of your messages and the types of items you sell. It's all about how much time you spend building your Streams. We give you four default streams, but you are going to reap great rewards if you spend time optimizing.
It's true that you can just turn on Social Streamer and let it do its thing. And this will result in traffic. However, you could receive up to 5 to 10 times the amount of traffic if you spend a little bit of time optimizing. You will want to design Streams that promote your best items.
You can also do the opposite: you can try to promote listings which do not have a lot of attention yet, or are newly listed. It's really up to you.
We recommend putting at least 20 listings in one Stream (group). If possible, do at least 50. This is because we have an obligation to help prevent duplicate information on the Internet.
We try to alleviate the problem of duplicate Tweets by randomizing the messages. In order to do this, we had to program hundreds of messages into our system.
We do not wish to operate a product that just "SPAMs" the networks. We want to attract buyers based on information that they can't find in the listing.
Here is what our Smart Browser looks like. You move the sliders to change the ranges of values, and the matching listings shown in the adjacent window.
You have several sliders that allow you to select a range of values for: Ending times, Number of watchers, Number of visitors, Cost of the item, Frequency of posting, and so on. You can filter with keywords. You can even customize a message for each one.
You don't have to use the Smart Browser at all. You can just use our defaults. The Smart Browser is always off by default and it takes one click to enable it. The reason we designed this way is because most people can't resist posting a few items when they visit the application.
Yes, our URL shortening service is a actually a dedicated service at Blinky.me. So, you may use the URL shortener for your own purposes as well, as a better alternative to bit.ly or tinyurl.com.
SPY is for analytics only. It is not meant for social tracking.
